Thing is, my scales usually marry up with whatever the CDC's scales say, regardless that I have weighed myself in the morning and I'm getting weighed in at hers in the evening. I've not been to the loo for 2 days and feel awful. Have bought some fibre stuff - will probably lose 2lbs would I eventually go!
Was a bit naughty and had some kebab meat and salad for tea. Weighed myself this morning and I haven't put on any extra - hope it hasn't knocked me out of ketosis! Back on track today.

Porridge for breakfast, soup for lunch and chicken/brocolli for tea. I've not really cheated (apart from our anniversary tea) but I have been having some extra light salad cream with my chicken on an evening. I'm still in ketosis, so I think I'm managing to get away with it.

I checked my scales this morning, cos I was hoping that I would be down into the next 'stone' level - and I was! Whoopee!

If I can lose 2lbs by tomorrow (unlikely) that will be my first stone off (and all done in 3 weeks!).

I think I probably need to start doing some exercise, although I did climb to the top of a steep hill yesterday to catch the horses, and I wasn't out of breath! Oh, and I put on a coat yesterday that I usually struggle to get the bottom button done up on - easy peasy! These are the little milestones that keep you going.

Weigh in showed a respectable 3lbs off, which I pretty happy with.

The weekend was a bit trying as I had a meeting in Leicester and I wondered how I would cope eating on the hoof. I ended up mixing up a chocolate shake with half a bottle of water. How difficult is it trying to get the powder out of the sachet and into a smallish hole on the bottle. I was covered in the bloomin stuff! Anyway, I didn't succumb to the lush cakes on offer and managed to stick it out until I got home at 9.30 and had my 200 calorie meal.

Went for Chinese last night to celebrate our anniversary. The food was lovely, and I don't think I over did it. Back on track today and hopefully will be good for the rest of the week.

10lbs off in two weeks - not bad at all! I definitely feel more comfortable in my clothes.

Have been weighing myself but only seemed to have dropped a pound since last weigh in on Monday.
Feeling a bit hungry tonight and have run out of bars - doh.
Got to do one inspection tonight and then home for some more chicken and cauliflower.
AGM in Leicester tomorrow. I'll have my porridge before I go and then hopefully the hotel will be kind to me and make up one of the shakes. The rest of the guys are having cakes - drool.

On a late shift today, although, I started assessments at 9.15, I'll work through (in other job in IT) until 8.00pm tonight and will be knackered. Hope I manage to be good until I get home!

Was feeling really tired/woozy at about 4.00pm again, last for an hour this time. Told my CD counsellor and she has advised me to perhaps have half a Crunch Bar when this happens - substitute it for a shake. Sounds good! Tried one of the bars on the way home (peanut one) and they are good! I'll be watching to see if it takes me out of ketosis.

Oh - did a big shop last night and found out that Pepsi Max has less calories in it than Coke Zero. I treated myself to one glass - will try to have one glass a day, but will also make sure that it doesn't take me out of ketosis.

A couple of nights I got a bit of a woozy head around 4.30, but that passed after about 30 minutes.

I was worried about the weekend, but again, so busy, that I just planned my day roughly around a) toilets and b)making sure that I could eat without leaving it too long (was driving around most of Saturday).

Sunday was glorious and although I worked in the morning (energy assessments), I spent time with my horses at the farm in the afternoon. My arms are sore today from scraping mud off Evee. I keep thinking that she will also benefit from me losing weight, and that it will help my riding cos I will be able to balance better (oh and hopefully it won't hurt so much when I fall off).

A lot has happened over the last year with jobs etc. Its been a great journey, little bit stressful at times, but a great networking experience.

I've really not had time to concentrate on my weight at all and have spent far too much money on fast food of late.

On the spur of the moment I made an appointment to start the Cambridge Diet again. The rules have changed a little in that you can have a 200 calorie meal each day - luxury! I'm on day 3 of my latest restart and I'm finding it really easy! There is a new 'porridge' that cambridge diet have produced and its really quite nice. I'm having that for breakfast each day, a chocolate shake at lunch and a small meal of chicken or turkey or tuna with 2 tablespoons of green veg/cauli. I then make my final butterscotch shake into a dessert using the mixamousse powder.

So far so good and only a slight headache yesterday. Did get a bit light headed at about 5.00pm, but I drank more water and I seemed to pull round about an hour later.

My intention is to lose 40lbs by Christmas. Thats 12 weeks away - I can do it!

Day 3 today and doing okay. Feeling peckish now. I think I'll go and make a chocolate mousse before I go swimming at 8.00 with the kids.

Since getting back, I've been dog tired. OK, I didn't get a good nights sleep whilst at the hotel (a couple were fighting in the room next door for 2 hours, starting at 3.00am!!!!). Then I had the long drive home, getting in at 8.00pm. Then I was on early shift the next morning, and of course hubby has the loudest snore in the world, and he has a cold, so its even worse!!!! I wondered if the food that I had eaten also might have contributed to the level of exhaustion I was feeling. I went to bed at 9.00pm last night to try and catch up.
I was sooo tired, I cancelled my weigh in. Naughty of me, but i really wasn't in the mood and I knew that I had put on at least 2lbs. Actually, when I weighed myself today, I have only put on about 1lb. This has spurred me on to be good today/rest of the week.

People at work are now starting to comment on my loss, which is really encouraging. I've also gone to put on some smart (office type) trousers today and they are dropping off and would have looked ridiculously baggy, so I had to rummage and find some others that are smaller. I have never worn these trousers before, had to take the labels off of them - how good is that??? Unfortunately, another pair that I had (still had labels on) are too big too and I've never even had them on! I can live with that

Have been adding some Psyllium husks to my soups, which make the soup a little thicker, lovely in this cold weather! The psyllium husks are supposed to 'make you go' cos I haven't 'been' since Monday and we're on Friday now! Usually floating about without a stitch on, and here's me slinking off to the loo to get changed, out of anyone's sight. No one has noticed that I've lost weight yet - hopefully by the end of the week this might change.

I'm 40 on Thursday. All of my family are coming down from Scotland at the weekend and we are going to a posh restaurant on Saturday. I have always known that I would be eating that day. At the moment I'm torn between eating all day, or just waiting until the meal on the evening. I think I'll wait, just in case I get an upset stomach after not eating for so long. Of course, I'll be cooking most of the weekend for my family, lovely smelling foods like bacon (yum) so I'll really have to be strong.

I'll be curious to see if I've lost very much on Tuesday - I'm aiming to lose an average of 4lbs per week to hit my target weight by the end of March. Anything less may be a bit more of a disappointment.

I don't know if this had a knock on effect to my digestive system as I felt ill when in bed that night. Sore stomach.

I've found that when I try to mix the soup in the blender, it ends up with a frothy head (disgusting). So, I bought one of those little cappucino whisks, and it manages to deal with the lumps without giving the horrible froth (ironic as it sounds). Happy days.

Had a good day yesterday, no major hurdles. Felt the onset of a slight headache mid afternoon, but took a paracetamol and was fine.

Went swimming in the evening whilst OH took boys to play badmington. I managed 30 lengths! I could have gone on longer, so was quite pleased. Now I'm wondering if I did too much. When I got home I started to feel hungry and didn't really want to drink anymore (so that I don't get up throught the night to go to the loo). So, I went to bed. I lay in bed and lay in bed and could not get to sleep - my stomach was rumbling a lot too. OH came to bed at about 1.30, I was wide awake. I managed to dose until about 7.30 and had to get up.

Another thing I have noticed (could be in my head of course) is that my skin has become itchy. This happened when I did the Atkins diet too. I kind of try to imagine that its the fat burning off

How fantastic is that? I could only find one counsellor in the area, and could I really justify the £66 per week? I'm one of those people who likes to know what she's getting into, so I researched and read blogs till they were coming out of my ears. The more blogs I read, the more I knew that I wanted to follow a VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet). The more blogs I read on the Lighter Life, the more I discovered that people were switching to the Cambridge Diet (same diet, but less expensive).

Got in touch with several counsellors in my area and met up with Julie on Wednesday night. First weigh in - 13st 3lbs. I would like to lose about 3.5 - 4 stone. I honestly cannot imagine me being 9.5 stone. I'm not one of those people who can every remember being a small size, so this really would be fantastic (and probably a bit strange).

I've read so many other blogs that have been really motivational and inspirational, that I thought I would attempt to give something back by writing my own. Hopefully, I'll stick at it!

Yesterday was my first day on the diet. I've done the Atkins before and kind of know to expect some headeaches during the first couple of days - so far I haven't had any! I have never been a good drinker, so the thought of drinking 3 litres of water every day has been a worry. I kept a little 5 bar gate tally on a post it note yesterday. Everytime I drank one of those .25 litre plastic cups of water, I added a bar. I managed to down about 2.5 litres yesterday and have bought a bottle of water on my way in to the office today. This has had the adverse affect of making me run to the toilet about twice every hour. Our loos or on the floor below, so I really can't leave it to the last minute (otherwise there will be a trail on the floor!).

Yesterday I had the banana shake for breakfast (don't usually do breakfast, so I had to force it down). Pleasant shake, with no minging aftertaste. Hubby even commented that it smelled nice! Lunch was the chicken and mushroom soup. I added a little cold water to try and make it into a paste first and then added the hot water. I don't have a blender in the office, but have bought a mini cappucino blender, which I'll keep at work. The soup was still a bit lumpy, but perfectly edible and quite tasty. Teatime I tried to make a toffee and walnut muffin - didn't turn out particularly well, I guess this will just be trial and error. Started to get hungry at 9.00pm, but didn't want to drink anymore, so just went to bed. I managed to make the kids tea without feeling the need to eat any of it, which was actually quite restrained for me.

I wonder how I'll get on today. So far, chocolate shake for breakfast. No headache, tummy has started to rumble and I've filled it with some more water. Fingers crossed for the rest of the day!
